Real Ramsey project
— Gutters

The least glamorous thing protecting your house

Nobody gets excited about gutters. But a Georgia thunderstorm can dump an inch of rain in half an hour, and every bit of it runs off your roof. If the gutters are sagging, clogged, undersized, or missing, that water lands right at the foundation. That’s how you get a wet crawlspace, a cracked slab, rotten fascia, washed-out landscaping, and stained siding.

Ramsey Contracting installs and replaces gutters across West Georgia, usually as part of a roof, siding, or exterior paint job, and often on their own. We size them right, pitch them right, and hang them so they stay put.

Seamless gutters on a home

What we install

Seamless aluminum gutters.

The standard for most homes. Formed on-site to the exact length of each run, so there are no seams to leak except at the corners. Available in dozens of colors to match your trim.

5-inch and 6-inch gutters.

Five-inch is the residential norm. Six-inch handles a lot more water and makes sense on bigger roofs, steep pitches, and homes with a history of overflow. We’ll tell you which one your roof actually needs.

Downspouts.

Sized and placed to move water away from the house, with extensions or splash blocks so it doesn’t dump at the foundation.

Gutter guards.

Micro-mesh or screen guards that keep leaves and pine straw out so you’re not on a ladder twice a year. We’ll be honest about which ones work and which ones are mostly marketing.

Fascia and soffit repair.

Gutters attach to the fascia board. If it’s rotten, new gutters will just pull loose. We replace bad fascia before we hang anything. See Siding →

Half-round and specialty gutters.

For homes where the look matters as much as the function.

— How we do it

How we install gutters

1

Removal.

Old gutters come down and get hauled off.

2

Fascia check.

We look at every foot of fascia before hanging new gutters. Soft or rotten boards get replaced. This is the step a lot of gutter crews skip, and it’s why gutters end up sagging within a couple of years.

3

Layout and pitch.

Gutters need to slope slightly toward the downspouts so water moves instead of sitting. We set the pitch and mark the runs before we hang anything.

4

Seamless fabrication.

We run the gutters on our machine right in your driveway, cut to length for each section.

5

Hanging.

Hidden hangers screwed into the fascia (and the rafter tails where possible) every two feet or so. Not spikes, which work loose. Not hangers spaced four feet apart, which sag.

6

Corners, end caps, and outlets.

Sealed with quality gutter sealant so the joints don’t drip.

7

Downspouts.

Secured to the house, with extensions or drains to carry water away from the foundation.

8

Cleanup.

Scraps and old material hauled off, yard left the way we found it.

3×
Before · During · After

Inspected three times

We walk every gutter job before, during, and after. The crew leader and project manager check the fascia before hanging, the pitch and hangers during install, and the whole system when it’s done. We run water through it before we leave. Most crews hang it and go. We test it.

Gutters and the rest of the exterior

Gutters, roof drip edge, and fascia all have to work together. That’s why it makes sense to do gutters at the same time as a new roof or new siding, and why we do all three in-house. When one crew handles the whole roofline, the details line up. See Roofing →

Straight pricing

Gutter pricing is usually by the linear foot, and we’ll give you a written estimate that lists the gutter size, guards if you want them, downspouts, and any fascia repair. No surprise add-ons. We’re rarely the cheapest number and rarely the highest. We’re the most direct.

Financing available

We offer financing on qualifying projects, especially when gutters are part of a bigger exterior job. Ask when you call.
